Brighton resident Louis Mattrs has popped up now and again on tracks from buzzing producers like PMR man SG Lewis. He seems intent on forging his own route into the mainstream now though, with 'Superman', taken from his Slow Waves EP, set to make a big splash. The production on 'Superman' ties closely to the sort of low-key but still bubbly soundscapes Mattrs has lent his smooth tones to previously; a familiar, airy space where Mattrs can breathe and let that emotive vocal of his fall naturally into the gaps between swirling synths and shuffling percussion. This could, and should, be the start of great things. - DC
